Remember when we asked if you had an idea for a short film? Well, if you were worried about running out of time, stop worrying now. The deadline's been extended to 13th January 2003.
First Writes are looking for a short film idea by young people aged between 11 and 16, as part of an exciting new competition, supported by First Light and Scottish Screen.
There is a brilliant prize for the winner - it's really great - you will see your idea turned into a film!!
So what's the story?
You must be aged between 11 and 16.
The idea for the script must be your own.
The film must be less than 5 minutes long. It could even be really short: think about TV commercials that manage to tell a story in 30 seconds.
It can be any type of film (drama, comedy, thriller, animation etc)
BUT IT MUST TELL A STORY.
What do you have to do?
Step 1 - Get an information pack and guidelines from the Scottish Screen website - www.scottishscreen.com/firstwrites
Step 2 - Send first writes a one page outline of your story by 13th Jan 2003.
They will select the best ideas and ask the entrants to write them up into full scripts. You will get help to do this.
There are some tips on the website to help you with your script.
Good luck with your writing and remember where you heard about this first!
